Abstract
Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, causes functional disorders in the sensory-perceptual and motor systems responsible for the control of balance and mobility. The decrease in postural stability in individuals with MS causes limitations in balance-related activities in daily life and decreases the quality of life. During the chronic course of the disease, technology-based physiotherapy approaches should be used together with exercise methods in the development of balance and mobility. Whole-body vibration (WBV) is one of the methods used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation to improve postural control, balance and muscle strength. On the other hand, the effects of WBV training in individuals with MS have not been studied sufficiently. This review aims to examine the effects of WBV on different functional systems in individuals with MS.
